Eduardo Mailat

Building things, exploring ideas, and figuring out how everything works.

I study Computer Science and Engineering at UTCN. I build my own apps, take things apart to see how they work, and spend the rest of my time on a basketball court or cutting together a game montage.

Right now, probablywriting code

(01)About

I like understanding how things work — and the best way I know is to build them myself.

I'm a Computer Science and Engineering student at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. A lot of what I've learned outside of lectures came from the same loop: pick an idea, open an editor, get stuck, and keep going until it actually works.

I'm drawn to software and mobile apps, curious about AI, and still the person who wants to know what's inside the case. But I'm not only at a desk — I play basketball, lift, run, travel whenever I can, and get out on a trail when I find the time.

    The tinkerer

Picks up new languages, frameworks, and ideas just to see what they can do — and what breaks.

    The person

Basketball, the gym, CS2, music, long trips, and cutting gaming clips into something cinematic.

BinTag

Know what’s inside every storage box without opening a single one.

A physical inventory management system designed to eliminate lost storage items. Each storage box or bin gets a unique QR label. Scan it with your phone to instantly view and manage contents—including item photos, quantities, categories, and exact storage locations. Anyone can scan to preview contents, while household members can organize and update items in real time.

Multiplayer Trivia Game

A loud, competitive trivia night that fits in your pocket.

A mobile party game inspired by social trivia games like Fight List. Players go head to head across different categories, rack up points, and compete with friends. The goal is something instantly understandable — simple interface, fast rounds — with enough competitive edge and cosmetic customisation to keep people coming back.

(03)Beyond the screen

Off the keyboard.

Code is a big part of my life, but not all of it. The rest happens on courts, on long drives, and in front of a game — usually with something playing in the background.

Basketball

My biggest interest outside of tech. Playing it, watching it, following every game — I love the competitive side of it.

a.The court

Gym & strength

Strength training keeps me sharp on the court, and the discipline of showing up carries over into everything else.

Running

Slowly getting faster, mostly by not stopping. It's also where a lot of my better ideas show up.

b.Travel

I'd rather see a place than read about it.

New cities, new roads, new food. Travelling is how I reset — and how I remember how much there still is to discover.

c.Gaming

Competitive, survival & story-driven.

d.Video editing

Turning game clips into something cinematic.

Just for fun, in my free time — gaming edits, montages, and messing around with pacing, cuts, and colour to see how a few seconds of footage can tell a story.

e.Music

Always something playing.

While coding, while training, on the road. Music is the background track to pretty much everything on this page.

f.Hiking

Mountain trails, snowy ridges, and alpine refuges in the Carpathians. When I'd rather be out than in, this is where I disconnect and reset.

g.Hardware & tech

Still the person who wants to know what's inside the case.

Components, builds, benchmarks, new chips, and whatever AI is doing this week. Software makes more sense when you understand the machine it runs on.
